Are epidurals bad as everyone says they are? All my family members and friends are telling me not to…

It's different from person to person. I had a failed epidural. @theinkedmommy had a great experience though!

I NEVER had one with my kids and will never get one ever...the stories I've heard about it fucking up your back are insane. I push through the pain and before I even know it its over. Not worth it in MY opinion but if you really need it at the time bcuz some need it, ide say go for it. Bcuz its better for you to be as relaxed as possible. But ide never do it lol....they'll come in and tell you the side effects/possible outcomes of doing it and they come in and tell me all the time and I'm like na...bye...lol😂😂😂 But if you need it, get it. But like I said I avoid that shit at all costs😂😂😂

And YES exactly what @scurlock.mommy, said. It's different for everyone so theres no telling what experience you'll have. With my luck it would have fucked me the hell up😂😂😂 it did work good for @theinkedmommy, I think. She can explain her experience to you.

I had 2 c sections and had epidural. I'm healthy and normal as can be. don't listen to everyone. everyone is different

I had no side effects at all from the epidural. It did take 5 tries though to get mine in. Something about my muscles not lining up with my spine. I don't know, something weird. The anesthesiologist told my husband that I have a unique physique. Anyway, it was nice to get it to be able to relax for a bit. I had already been in labor for well over 24 hours when I decided to get it. Once you start pushing though you feel everything, at least I did.

Mines was good. Worked so good, I was still numb 24 to 48 hours after baby was born. So they had to keep me a few extra days. But I didn't complain bc I was painful.

It varies from patient to patient. As well as anesthesiologists.

I didn't get one with my first baby because my mom and oldest sister traumatized me with horror stories. Not to mention all the other women who tried to brain wash me that it was bad. (I was 17.) It was the worst experience!

I always go into my birth plan with an open mind. I plan on not using meds but I don't torment myself either. If I am becoming fatigued/exhausted or the pain is unbearable I opt for the epidural.

I experienced some aches from it but nothing major.

Good luck with your experience! Definitely do some homework and check out who is the anesthesiologists at the hospital you'll be giving birth at.

Mine weren't bad. One of them didn't work but it's a really sharp pinch that lasts a sec and normally relieves hours of pain
