Pt- patient

Arom- artificial rupture of membrane aka they broke her water manually

Chorioamniitis- Infection of the amniotic fluid

Is it normal for an infection to set in so quickly??

@sawyersmom it surely can be if she was being checked often and there was bacteria already introduced into her vagina. Absolutely

@namastaye exactly. And as a labor professional and mother, I completely understand that sometime interventions are necessary. I just hate having to put a disclaimer everytime lmao. But yes...i agree that this sounds very rushed.

I labored very quickly with no intervention. I was only at the hospital maybe 1.5 hours before I delivered my son. I think it is a little absurd to rush so much intervention so quickly. Our bodies were made to do this. A csection is a lot harder recovery than a vaginal delivery.

@sawyersmom I agree. Many doctors will rush delivery to happen within 12 to 24 hrs after the water has been broken. My water had been broken for over 13hrs before i even got to the hospital. My doc said "what do you want us to do? We can intervene with meds if you're not progressing after a few hrs. I can send the nurses to check your temp to make sure you're not getting an infection and we can leave you alone for 12hours. You can request meds to get things going now.....its up to you" I refuse to have a medical team that will not explain the different options and keep me involved in the entire progress. After all it is my birth. I would've refused to let them break my water

I swear to god almost the same thing happened to me except the infection but they were talking about a csection from a few hours after I was admitted!! I truly think I would have been better off staying home a little longer

@bria i remember that. It's true. I always tell ppl if you're low risk and less than 20 min from the hospital....stay home!!!!

This is what the doctor did. She talked about a csection ran out cuz she had to do an emergency c section, came back and said "I just did a c section and don't really feel like doing another one so we're gonna try pitocin but we have to do it really low and slow cuz I don't wanna blow out your uterus" WHILE IM STUCK IN A BED 😠😠😠😠 I wanted to kill her

I knew she broke my water too quick and I asked her why she was doing it why I couldn't wait for it to break on it's own and she said "to speed things up" really bitch is that why I was there overnight before having my kid

I went from 3 to 6 cm in literally a matter of hours. By the time I was admitted I was 6 cm. By body was doing its work. I was in so much pain from contracting for so many days that I took the epidural but next time I know better because it was like they knew I was stuck and had total control over everything and I didn't

I have nothing bad to say about Danbury hospital itself but I want to try another ob office next time I think. Sucks cuz I like 2 of the obs there

@bria yeah. I hear you. Just don't get pregnant and end up with a winter baby cause i dont doula in the winter 😂😂😂 not in CT

@arivera64, i never knew you could get pitocin and an epidural isnt pitocin a pain medication too

@november6th no not at all. Pitocin is a drug to induce labor

I often wonder if I opted to c section to quickly being a first time mom. Caleighas head was swelling and she wasn't in distress but my cervix did swell as well. I was an 8 then down to a 5 in an hr

@santistevanmommie i wasn't there but it does sound like the right choice was made. Sometimes ice can be applied to the cervix to attempt reduction in the swelling, but sometimes it isn't worth it.

I'm glad it's never kept me up at night! She was also face up instead of down. And they had turned her once already during labor
