@alissaf1022, You can start dilating towards the end of your pregnancy. Some women dilate early, some don't dilate at all. If you're induced it could be because something looks off with the baby, you're overdue, or for your and baby's safety.

I never dilated until I was induced. I had to be induced because I was over due.

My doctor mentioned something about being induced because my due date is a holiday, but I didnt understand if she meant i was gonna be induced or if it was just an option. @tasticmel

I don't see why you would have to be induced cuz your due date is a holiday. Maybe your doctor will be out of town? And wants to get you to have your baby before she leaves town. @alissaf1022,

I was induced at 40 weeks on June 28 but my doctor said I could wait till I was 41 weeks. If I had waited I would have been induced on July 4. Holidays shouldn't have anything to do having to be induced. Everyone I know who's been induced was because they were over due. @alissaf1022,

@tasticmel My doctor said unless she has no choice then they don't deliver on a hoilday, i was confused, but she said I would probably have to have her before my due date and it kinda worried me.

I don't see why they can't wait a couple of days after your due date to induce you. It doesn't have to be on your due date. When it comes down to when you get induced if you need to, then it should be up to you when it happens.
