Looking for advice or tips on getting my milk to come in. I am scheduled for my 4th c-section Wednesday & I don't think my milk has ever come in with my previous 3. I'd love to be able to breastfeed this time around.
With my first, I tried but by the time I was leaving the hospital they told me to switch to formula as I wasn't producing. I didn't try with my second, and with my 3rd I tried & it seemed to be ok the first day or two, but it seems that my milk just does not come in (I say this because my breasts have never felt engorged, hardened, and I have never ever had to dry up after a baby). I was pumping & nursing her, I tried pumping on the other side as soon as I was done nursing her, I tried pumping exclusively (towards the end), I tried just nursing her & holding her skin to skin, etc. I tried lactation cookies, I tried all kinds of things I read online. Honestly I would spend two hours of nursing followed by up to two hours of pumping just to maybe get 4 oz combined from both breasts.
I'm not sure at this point if it's possible that my breasts just don't work for it, or if there are things I can do to try to make it happen this time. I have ordered a supplement to try this time around once I have the baby to help my milk come in. I'm willing to try almost anything. Thanks in advance!!
