So Harrison's over 9kg and the health visitor said he can go in a forward facing car seat now, although I thought the law changed to 15 months? Any ideas? It would be great if he could because he hates the car now because he can't see anything other than the back seat.

He can but they say keeping them rear facing as long as possible is the safest. Got this long lecture from a toys r us sales lady who also has a 9 month old about how I shouldn't even be thinking about forward facing. Here I am like, my baby has been screaming non stop in his car seat from 2 months till now, if the regulations say it's allowed I'm good thanks..... 🙃

Evelyn is in a forward facing seat x I think the law only applies to new car seats which will be brought out so if you have an old one then it doesn't apply x that's how I figured x

TRIGGER WARNING This is very personal but extremely important. Especially with all this car seat stuff going on.

TRIGGER WARNING This is very personal but extremely important. Especially with all this car seat stuff going on. Last Saturday, yes 3 days before Christmas there was a terrible car accident. A woman crossed into oncoming traffic on a highway and hit another car head on then slammed into the guard wall. Why is this important? Why does it matter? Who was this woman? This woman was the mother of my two nephews. This woman had the most precious cargo in her back seat. She had my nephews who are 6 and 3 years old. The 3 year old was in a 5pt harness forward facing seat. His chest clip wasn't in the proper position and his face hit his legs. He has multiple facial fractures and his eyes are so swollen he can not see. Christmas morning he was able to just open them enough for a peek and say "I see you daddy". Now for the other son. He would have been 7 next month. That's right would have been. He was killed on impact. He was not in a booster seat. The force of impact and the position of the seat belt his little body didn't stand a chance. He had multiple internal organs damaged but breaking his neck is what took him away. My family now has to say goodbye to a little first grader. Now please think of how precious and important your children are to you and your family. They deserve to rear face until they max out 40lbs, in a booster until they outgrow the height requirements, and they deserve to be buckled correctly every time. I know we are all busy moms and 99.9% of the time are in a hurry because getting tiny humans ready is a lot. Just remember they are tiny humans and deserve us to be responsible for their lives.
