Please do not take this post offensively....
We vaccinate our children. I know some parents do not and I am not judgmental for that. I've googled, but I still don't know too much about the controversy.
I have someone that would like me to care for her. 5 month old son. They do not vaccinate. What risk do I run for my babies getting sick if they don't vaccinate?
Would love a point of view from both sides!
TIA!
Makes sense. @nerualauren, aside from the "responsible" part. I don't think moms who go the natural route are considered irresponsible. What was your experience with vaccinations?
My mother told me vaccinations weren't natural. And at one point didn't exist and children were just fine, their bodies did what they had to do to protect them now all of a sudden they have all these different "must have" vaccines. I do know however my mother kept us away from flu shots when we were young, and the one year I DID get the shot, I got the flu. So I'm a bit shocked there. What has been your experience with it? I would like to know the best route to go for my baby.
Do they have any other children besides the 5 month old? If they have older children that haven't been vaccinated and your son only being a year old - he hasn't had all of his vaccinations yet. So there would be a risk there.
I would be a little wary since your child is too little for his shots. I made people use hand sanitizer before holding my son at that age. It was mostly due to a large RSV breakout though. They just don't have an immune system at that age yet. Even a small illness could hospitalize them. But perhaps I'm too cautious 🤷🏻♀️ lol
You being vaccinated will only protect the one who isn't. Most kids who aren't vaccinated don't get sick because of all the responsible people surrounding them preventing any sickness.
