I started giving my baby cereal in his milk and he hadn't pooped in 3 days. I was changing his diaper and I notice he had a really hard price of poop sticking out. I pushed his leg towards his stomic and put my fingers on with side of his behind hole and put a little pressure. I could feel how hard it felt under the skin so for the next 10 minutes I alternated between pushing and using my finger to pull the poop out. It was horrible. He had some much in him it broke my heart to think that he was probably in pain and I didn't know it. I hope I did the right thing.
@djcjej okay thank u. I was told by a lot of the older wemon in my family to give him kerol syrup. What is your thoughs on that
My son was 3 almost 4 months when the pediatrician said to give it to him. Just as needed for that time. Not everyday. After 5 days of no poop I called because that wasn't like him and she recommended 2 ounces of prune juice.
You could also give him prune juice. We had to when my son was constipated and the pediatrician said 2 ounces was good. It worked for him.
Is it rice cereal or oatmeal. Ride can cause constipation. That's what my son's pediatrician told us so we bought the baby oatmeal cereal.
@ashleydunn i was adding oat meal cereal. And if I don't he spits up really bad. It some reason makes him not spit up
My daughter struggled with constipation. We fed her Prunes and it took care of it. We still use it too. I always watch her bowel movements and if it is more then 3 days I give them to her. If her poop seems large I give them as well
My doctor told me not to use baby Cearel. Said the digestive system doesn't have enzymes to break it down. She said at just do pureed food no soo er than 4 months.
This happened to my son when I started giving him regular milk. His doctor told me it was normal for him to get constipated, his body will get used to it. If you give formula you can fix the formula with regular milk
I have heard of it but I just went with what the pediatrician said because I wasn't sure.
