Question. When your little ones were at the age where they were starting to understand no, did they do as they were told or do I just have a rebellious little shit? He literally looks at me, smirks then throws whatever it is i'm telling him no to. Either this is normal when they're learning or my child is as obedient as a puppy 😂

My son shouts no back at me 🙄🙄 think it's normal!

@jskalouu, oh gosh haha 😂 Charlie's not talking yet but he sometimes grunts at me when I say no, pretty sure it's his way of telling me to f*ck right off 😂
Jessica·
@jo.wilcox, Haha probably! 😂 my son is at the mimicking stage, so when I issue a demand he shouts it back at me 🙈😂 at night time I pop my head in his room and say "bed" and he just tells me to go to bed 😩 so exhausting haha! We've hit the tantrum stage too 😬😬

@jskalouu, sounds too funny 😂 I beg that gets frustrating lol! Oh Charlie was an early bloomer in the tantrum department 🙈 he throws himself into that awkward position where hey arch their backs and stretch their arms and legs so you literally can do nothing with them, drops to the floor, screams and rolls around like a maniac 😂 the things they do ay!
Jessica·
@jo.wilcox, Oh my Lordy, Eli's started throwing his head back and arching! Drives me wild! 🙈 he was wonderful, proper good boy, but since I've gotten pregnant he's been a nightmare! It's like he knows 😂 ah well they keep us young 😂

I think they're able to understand no very very early, e.g. My 7 month old clearly respects the word No. However I think at the age you're mentioning they've learnt they have a choice and need to learn consequences. Scared for when my little one starts throwing tantrums! Totally normal though, they're just exercising new found skills of independence...... Lol

@jskalouu, it's literally the worst position they can be in, little fuckers 😂 aww no haha, he may even calm down once the baby comes, or it will take a turn for the worst and be the worst terror you've ever had to love 🙈 I feel bad on Charlie though, a lot of the time I'm telling him no when he's at things he shouldn't be, but we're still living with my partners parents 😩 and his mum refuses to put away her ornaments etc knowing that Charlie is gonna play with them!
Jessica·
@jo.wilcox, god I know! 😩 I'm hoping it's just a phase, he's still a super good boy. I think he just gets frustrated that his language isn't coming along as quickly as he would like it to, even though his talking is amazing for his age! Think he'll be happier when he can tell me properly what's wrong. Oh that's really annoying!! I'd be raged. It's not nice having to discipline your child when an adult is to blame. We used to live with my partners parents too! I was so chuffed to get our own place!

@noshinxoxo, tbh at 7 months Charlie would just look at me blankly with most things I said to him 😳 although it makes sense what you say, he realises he has a choice and is pushing the boundaries. So long as it is normal for them not to listen right away and it's not just a case of my child being the spawn of the devil 😂

@jskalouu aww, can't wait to hear Charlie talking! Yeah it definitely must be frustrating for him when he's not able to express himself properly. It does annoy me tbh, I feel like all I do is say no to Charlie when tbh he would very rarely need to be told if I was just allowed to put the ornaments away. He's literally so good, the only thing he's ever being told no for is playing with things he shouldn't, if that was eliminated I'd only have to occasionally tell him when he bites! We're desperate for our own place but there's just nothing on the market where we are 😩
Jessica·
@jo.wilcox, That sounds really difficult! Hope you can find a place of your own soon! I don't see why putting them away is an issue for her. Safe guarding the house for kids is important. You should let him smash one, she'll soon put them away then 😂😂

@jskalouu, oh I know, it's so frustrating. I just bite my tongue most of the time as afterall it's not my home. Trust me, he's broken plenty! She got all annoyed at him the other day because he dropped two photo frames behind the radiator the morning of his birthday, I was secretly thinking yes go on Charlie 😂
Jessica·
@jo.wilcox, I was in that same position! It's horrible trying to raise your child under someone else's roof! I totally sympathise! She can't get annoyed at him on his birthday, that's horrible! God id be seething 😂😂

@jskalouu, she didn't aim it at him but I could tell it was him she was frustrated at. My partner isn't afraid to speak his mind though so he says a lot to her. Oh I know, I bought him a custom made cake and then wanted to get a standard supermarket one to give him at his high chair and just go crazy with- I wasn't allowed because t would make too much mess 😂 a party full of young kids and mine ain't allowed a seperate cake to have fun with becausenof mess 😂😂
Jessica·
@jo.wilcox, aw that's good! My partner keeps the peace between me and his mum and we clash like feeerk, so it gets tense sometimes 😂 omg 😱 there's no such thing as too much mess with a little one! As long as they're having fun!

@jo.wilcox meh I'd argue all children are the spawn of satan at one point or another. I wouldn't worry.
