Can any of you moms help me figure out what's happening?
I breast feed my baby. I do pump because she doesn't latch on like she's suppose to no matter how much help I get or classes I go to. So I pump. Well I normally pump every 2 hours or at least 3 and I would get about a full bottle and then a half when done pumping. For the entire day today I barely can get 3 oz every time I pump and that's from both breasts. And tonight I could barely get an oz and a half or at least 2 oz from both breasts. Do I need to eat more or is it like a sign of putting her on formula. She's now 8 days from being a month old. I don't want to run out. We got a sample formula from the pediatrician because she's not gaining enough weight. And she's drinking formula for tonight since I can't give her enough. She's kinda fighting it but also eating. It seems like "I don't like the taste but I'll eat it because you refuse to feed me the good food". What should I do to help produce more milk?

I was the same way and felt the same way about formula but had to finally day ok and supplement that was what's best for my son to get enough food so I give him both. Don't best yourself you every body is different some people produce alot and others not so much

It takes 12 weeks for your mill to fully come in. Your body has to get use to pumping since thats what you're doing now. It may not be alot coming out because a pump doesn't suck as hard as baby would. So its probably not triggering a let down. You can try lactation cookies and drinks. Drink WATER. And make sure you're eating enough. Certain foods people tell you to eat that help your milk is a lie. Ask @cubanese

The thing with pumping is that so many factors could be playing a part into how much is being pumped. You could need to replace some pump parts, etc. But in regards to producing more milk, Milky Mama treats worked for me & are good. It can also make your milk fattier. Breastfeeding is very difficult especially around the 3-5 week mark. It takes some serious dedication & commitment. Good luck!
