You never have* to take classes, but, for a natural birth is definitelyyyy look into finding some classes that are based on natural birthing. I know they have c-section refresher classes so I'm sure they probably have natural birthing classes. And I remember I took a basic "labor and delivery" class and they talked about all kinds of birth and what to expect. I think it would be helpful. They talk about early stages of labor, and what exactly happens to your body, breathing techniques and all that jazz that you'd need no matter if you're having a medicated birth or not.
Taking a class aimed at natural birth is your best bet especially if it is your first time going natural. You have plenty of time to learn. Theres educators that you can hire to teach you the classes on your schedule in your home. Look up local Doulas and midwives they can point you in the right direction. Theres different birthing styles do some googling and see which works for you...
With my first i did lamaze which was almost zero help
2&3 I did mix of bradley and hypnobirthing
4 was with my new husband and we were so unprepared I didnt take a class. Really I should have more so for HIM to have the education.
5 I did birthing from within... it helped heal from the emotional trauma I experienced wth baby 4.
Until then... "Ina May's Guide to Childbirth" is an absolutely AMAZING read. Its very eye opening and informative. It helped me a lot.
