(People are way too Induce Happy these days. There are legit medical reasons for induction..."well, the doctor said I could induce once I hit 40 weeks" is NOT a good reason. )

Thankfully I had a textbook induction! It was amazing. I thought it was gonna go badly

@aliakr, that's wonderful! I'm so happy to hear of them going right. 🙌🏼 It's just that so many doctors offer them nowadays because they make 3x as much if they end up preforming a c-section.

Yeah that part I don't agree in 😔... I had mine because I needed gallbladder surgery. And I've been being dosed with so much morphine an pain pills to help me with the pain cause they wouldn't operate until I had my baby 😩 it was horrible I knew it was gonna affect the baby if I kept having those heavy duty pain pills so I got induced at 39 weeks an had my surgery a week later @jennatess,

Labor was a piece of cake compared to gallbladder pain

@aliakr, I definitely agree there are many many good reasons for induction. But, these days I'm seeing more and more people having them only because they've hit 39/40 weeks.
I bet gallbladder pain was absolutely hell. 😱

Yeah I wish I could've kept my baby in longer!! I loved being pregnant but man those gallstones were horrible. I was in pain pills for half my pregnancy when I really needed it an the hospital only gave me morphine an none of it even took the edge off. Thankfully my daughter came out okay an not hurt by them @jennatess, it's crazy how doctors will electively do them at 39, anything before that is illegal unless medically necessary but before they would induce 42 plus weeks

@aliakr, I can only imagine the pain you were in! You're amazing.
I went to one day shy of 42 weeks, and was effing miserable. I had gained 60lbs and have never been more swollen. This was before I knew a lot about inductions, but I knew I didn't want to rush the baby. So, I remember at one of my last doctors visits, he mentioned how he thought my daughter was going to be big (she ended up being 9lbs 6oz) and said "we can induce, BUT, if you're okay, I think we should wait until 41 weeks. She seems happy and healthy in there and I don't see the reason to rush her other than she's big. It's up to you." And I remember being like "let's induce on the day of my 42nd week if that's okay.". He agreed. After it was all said and done, I went into labor naturally the day before 42 weeks, and he then told me that a lot of doctors these days offer inductions because they are 50% more likely to end it c-section and they make crazy money off of them. He said he just didn't think it was morally right to mess with women who are obviously so done with being pregnant, and knowing most will agree to induction.

Omg !!!! How did you do it??? My daughter was barely 7lbs at 7lb 2oz..... an I tore so badly !!! I had her 39 weeks 1 day. An your doctor sounds amazing !!! I wish more doctors were like that. I almost had a c section too cause I was in labor for like 18 hours an I hadn't dilated past 6 cm so after I signed my consent papers , got cleaned down an shaved an everything which was horrible since they take everything off your laying there naked an wipe you down an all. I got the spinal block an then they checked me an I was fully dialed am ready to push 😂😂😂😂 I was so happy I had her 15 minutes later @jennatess,

My doctors face was so shocked cause she was convinced I wasn't gonna dialate since my pitocin got tuned disconnected during the night. An my daughter started showing signs of distress
jenna tess·
That's terrifying!
I ended up having a c-section because her heart rate dropped and my pelvis is small (well, probably normal size but small compared to a giant baby! Lol.)
