Has anyone ever falling for a secret shopper scam and lost money? If so, did your bank give you your money back?

I give them the letter and all the information I had ... but I guess that's not enough.

And apparently they have a huge case against them ...:

I did. I reported it to the FTC. Unfortunately it's only a report though and they can't help me, but I helped others.

File a report prevent this low lives from doing it again

Yup the bank wanted me to, but they can't do anything because everything about it is probably fake too

The check was way more too. I was like wtf you just drained my account.

Did you turn it in to the police? I don't know if that would do anything, but a record of it might help stop them in the future?

@dmm1976, ugh thanks. I definitely not doing this ever again. The company had the nerve to send me another assignment after all of this. I was like hell no!

No judgement here at all, I just wanted to know what it was do I wouldn't fall for it too! Sorry that happened to you. :(

@dmm1976, I got a check and letter in the mail. The letter explained the assignment, which was to deposit the money, wait 24, then go to Walmart to evaluate the save at the money center and sending the money back. The check obviously turned out to be fake and now I'm being a countable for it even after being honest with the back and showing them EVERYTHING.

Yes I know it all sounds stupid and shady now. Yes I should have realized it was when I had to send money back. I just I just thought it would be ok because the person was like you don't pay out of your pocket. Obviously that was a lie and I'm paying for it now.

Please keep judgement off this. Believe me I'm already getting myself enough.

Scammers keep getting better and better now a days unfortunately 😑 My husband and I had a company harassing us for 2000 dlls or else they were serving my husband with papers, and they demanded the money immediately, we googled the ladies name, phone number and the so called mediation company name it'll came up as being a scam

@p0790, ugh doesn't sound like it because PNC isn't doing anything and I can't even talk to the people handling my case to see if I can.

I almost did, I called my bank to make sure they'd covered that money and the said no idk if it varies by bank
