Can't believe medi Cal no longer pays for circumcisions...ugh My son is scheduled for Monday😱

Yeah its considered a cosmetic surgery now that's why many people are no longer having there sons circumcised because its sooooo expensive thankfully I got my sons done for 108

They have not covered it in over 10 Years. In my office we only charge $175

Since the procedure is not medically necessary because it amputates healthy skin, most health insurances do not cover it anymore.

It costed me 250 to get my son circumcised.

Yeah!! When I was there the hospital was way different an more strict than the ones here In Hawaii lol.

@skywalkermom I see .it just surprised me .. Why they wouldn't pay...seems important to prevent infections etc.

Medi-cal hasn't covered them for a while. I had to pay $300 out of pocket. I was SO mad. Luckily my OB did it at her office so $300 was actually the lowest i could find. I BALLED my eyes out when i heard it wasn't covered, i thought he wasn't going to be able to get it done because its so damn expensive. @mluvs7

Yeah no Medicaid In states no longer pay for it I had to pay out of pocket in the hospital to get my sons done

Our pediatrician never did hospital calls it was the on call doctor

Yeah maybe just in the last 5 years maybe? My first is 4 so I know it's been that long. My nephew is 8 and his was also covered so it's any time between 2009-2013 they stopped

That's to bad :/ is it a new thing? Cause when my brother was born they did his circumcision after my mom had her c section an was recovering so it was already done when she got to see him @mluvs7,

The hospital wouldn't let you do it the day he was born ? Or while you guys were in the hospital?

They haven't done it for years, I paid out of pocket for both my boys
