Anyone have any experience with babies not meeting milestones? Particularly social smiling and cooing. My kiddo was a premie, but I feel like by now he should be doing those things even for a premie, and I'm getting scared.
Thanks everyone. It really is hard not to worry, especially since we are already dealing with the fact that he inherited being deaf in one ear from me. The thought of adding something like an autism diagnosis on top of that is terrifying. It's good to hear positive stories. Thanks.

I know it's annoying but every baby is different
I hate when people tell me to not compare because honestly it's so hard not to. I have a special needs sister so I've been around the "not meeting milestones" aspect of it all. You honestly have nothing to be worried about. I personally wouldn't start getting worried until around 9ish months and they haven't begun doing simple little things. Just bring EVERYTHING up to your doctor and make sure they're taking you serious and keeping a close eye on milestones.
Message me if you ever have an questions !
My son was full term and he didn't really start smiling and interacting with people socially until at least 4 months. Just give your little one some more time, I'm sure he will perk up soon:)
I had a 25 weeker and she started cooing at the end of month 4 and was crying before a year old and was walking very late tho like 16 months but running tho. Now she is an intelligent 4(5 on the 15th) and you wouldn't even know she was a preemie. Knew all her ABCs by 17months and some colors . don't worry your baby will catch up on their time @hotpotatogirl
My little girls was a preemie. Shes a year old and behind socially, at 9 months adjusted she still doesnt understand when we ask her for things and give her a task. She still cant tell mom and dad apart which by now she should be able to say dada to dad and mama to mom. Depending on how early your baby was it may not be drastic yet. At 3 months actual i had a newborn so she didnt do anything until roughly 5 months actual 2 months adjusted.
