I'm exclusively pumping. Is it normal for my boobs to feel bruised? Like to the point I can barely touch them

@katiesmiles1, that's how I am!! Or you get out of the shower and leak down yourself? Yep. That's the best lol
I'm the same way , my boobs get enlarged and honestly the pain is there but it's from me being tired and not pumping when I should be , am trying to get on a schedule because mine get rock hard to the point where I have to pump immediately or I have the worst pain ever

Skin to skin can help you to let down faster I've found and it's great bonding time.

@dmm1976, I have had mestitis before. I got it when I was 13. And i need to start doing it more I'm honestly just so tired lol. And I produce a lot, I normally get 5 oz every time I pump every 3/4 hours. And no I did not know skin to skin would help!

I pumped every 2-3 hours for the first couple months till my supply was well established. Making milk is supply and demand. So the more often you pump the more milk your body will think you need and ramp up production. It will also keep your ducts from getting clogged and leading to an infection (mastitis) . This is important when eping because your breasts do not respond the same as if you were nursing. So it's can be harder to keep your supply.
Do you do skin to skin with your baby before pumping? This will also help.

Do you feel a knot if you massage? It's hard to say but you could have a clogged duct. If it persists I'd call your ob. You could have mastitis, which isn't as scary as it sounds.

@katiesmiles1, @dmm1976, it hurts even right after I pump.. I took a hot shower and it seems to be helping some. I pump when my son eats, which is every 3/4 hours. 😅 should I pump more

I read nips...not boobs so the above is most likely right . You should be pumping every 2-3 hours in the beginning.

Your suction might be too high. A great resource for Exclusive pumpers is this forum. :

The ladies in that group know everything about EPing
Yes that means there full of milk and you need to relieve them , if your pumping def get on a schedule so you don't have a clogged duct
