Looking for opinions... I have a babysitter coming this weekend from 5pm-11pm. Is it required or necessary to provide dinner for the sitter?
I babysat every weekend when I was a teenager. I had all sorts of situations. Sometimes they'd order pizza or have dinner already made, sometimes they'd leave stuff out for me to cook, sometimes they wouldn't have food at all and say the kids already ate. I always appreciated when there was food, but I wasn't necessarily disappointed when there wasn't. 5pm-11 is a long time though, so I think providing dinner would be a nice gesture.
I agree with the other ladies. It isn't necessary, but definitely nice to offer. Even if you order pizza for the night or offer snacks or something.
Not necessary but I like to offer some food. Think about it, how do you feel when you're hungry? Pretty upset. So I try to give food or let them know to bring something. Snacks even help. Pretzels, juice etc.
When I babysat all through my teen years they provided dinner for me. As an adult they just said help yourself. I always laid stuff out for my sitters or ordered something.
