My son was sick a few days ago and now when he breathes heavy some times it sounds like a wheeze , not like he's out of breath though. And it's not all the time . Should I take him in to the dr?
Michelle·
Is he congested? When my LO was sick and started make a similar sound, the doctor called in a steroid, but she was congested.
Kendra·
@michelle-, I don't think he's congested. He coughs like once and a while and it sounds really wet?
Michelle·
@domsmama96, if his cough sounds wet then he might be a little congested? Do you have a nebulizer?
Kendra·
@michelle-, I don't :/ any other way I can try to get him decongested ? I have some zarbees baby cough medicine?

It's hard to tell sometimes. I took my baby in a few times and the dr said he was fine...a month after getting sick I took him in again and he has bronchiolitis and a double ear infection from RSV. If you hear wheezing and crackling while he breathes its best to get him checked just in case.
Kendra·
@dhamiphoenix, yeah I should probably call and see what they say :/
DhamiPhoenix·
I hope he is ok and it's just a cold. RSV is super thick mucus btw. It's a cold that won't go away and makes breathing harder to do

My son has a cold right now too. He woke up just yesterday morning not feeling good. I completely forgot about RSV, how long should I just keep and eye on him and see if it goes away before taking him to the dr. His sister got RSV when she was not much younger than him😣@dhamiphoenix

It's tough stuff. My boy was sick for a month but I took him in after a lady I overheard was talking at the hair salon about her baby having RSV.
I noticed thicker mucus that would stretch out and I HAD to use the nose bulb for him to clear up enough to eat.

He had wheezing for two days before they finally diagnosed him

@noahs.mommy,

He's not wheezing but he has a lot of snot and stuff in his nose i have to suck out.@dhamiphoenix
DhamiPhoenix·
I did too at first but when it started collecting in his mouth is when I got really worried. It was clear and would bubble out of his mouth with coughing. I'd suck it out and it would stretch a good foot
DhamiPhoenix·
I keep forgetting to tag sorry! @noahs.mommy,
M. P. ·
Don't worry about it! And i guess i need to look out for that. He's never been sick before 😩@dhamiphoenix
DhamiPhoenix·
Yeah just keep an eye out for a more extreme cold. That pretty much what RSV is
Kendra·
@dhamiphoenix, @noahs.mommy, my son had RSV at 3 months and it was TERRRIBLE . He had the worst cough/ wheezing . And what was even worse was when I took him in to the hospital and they told me there was no medicine for it. They said it just needed to run its course . He was sick for about a month . It took forever to go away. Hope your babies are okay!

He's okay! I think he may have allergies. Unfortunately my dad has severe asthma so he has severe allergies around this time of year and my grandpa was the same way. I think he may have been hit with allergies, i gave him a tiny bit of benedryl and he was fine the next day. And with that being an allergy medicine for kids, the fact that it worked told me right there he has HORRIBLE allergies. I was really worried about RSV for a minute though with the amount of mucus in his nose. @domsmama96
