So this is my first mommy app and I just need to vent a little and hopefully get a little advice. My boyfriend and I have been together for about 3 years now. We actually started dating after I found out I was prego. We talked about marrage after a year and a half and he was all for it. We went looking at rings and all. Then we stopped because I wanted him to actually propose to me. Then a little while later we talk about it again and now he doesn't want to marry at all. He says "there is no point" or "they are just papers." And some of the descusions we have had have lead to arguments. I just dont understand why. We own a house together we have a bank account together and he wants more kids with me. I have always wanted to get married. Should this be a deal breaker for me or should I just stay?

Before same sex marriage was legal very common. Many same sex couples did it.
It was used by couples like me and my man who don't believe in marriage.
Also common law marriage depends on your state. In Florida it's 7 years living tomorrow

I disagree with marriage too. There is an alternative if he's not wanting the paper side of things.
A commitment ceremony. You go through all the motions just, no papers. You can go to the courthouse and change your name to his without a marriage certificate.
That's what we are doing....i hate marriage and blame that piece of paper for my parents not being together....they were happy, got married, got miserable separated, divorced.
10 years later started dating each other again. Happy again....
I have told him more than once. I know that his parents had a very rough marriage and I don't know if that maybe has a lot to do with him not wanting to get married?
Try and talk to him about it my fiancé was the same way and always said they were just papers then I had to explain to him that to me they were not just papers and about 6 months later we were engaged
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
