Any moms swear by evening primerose oil? If not what helped/what you think helped start your labor?

i was 6 days past my due date & drank a glass of red wine & went into labor that night

@allyk.xmommy, I'm desperate too, everyday I'm in a shit load of pain from my back, hips, pelvis, and legs getting charley horses. I just want this baby out!

I'll be 40 weeks tomorrow. I've been getting physically sooo weak. So tired. And mentally and emotionally drained.

I just started taking the evening primrose oil and drinking raspberry leaf tea over the weekend... I can feel the contractions but they aren't consistent yet

@sequala_parson, I took the primerose oil pills when I was pregnant with my daughter and I swear they started my labor and she came exactly on her due date but for some reason I'm skeptical this time so I wanna see who all it's worked for. But I haven't tried the tea

I took 1 orally and shoved 2 up my area

@brianna_ I'm worried that I'm not taking enough... I bought the 1000mg and the bottle says take 3 a day but when I looked online it recommended to use 5000mg... how much did you use?

@sequala_parson, it's been so long( over a year) but I believe I got the 5000 mg and I was putting 2 up the shoot( just puncture them with a tack so they leak the fluid in you) and I took 1 orally.

@brianna_, so you were putting 10,000mg up and taking 5000 orally?

@sequala_parson, if I'm not mistaken yes. Like I said it was over a year ago so I'm not 100% sure but I do know whatever mg I was taking I was putting 2 vaginally and 1 orally. I did the vaginal ones at night during bed time so they wouldn't leak out

@brianna_, hmmm... I'll probably do more research on it... my doctor doesn't know much about it so she's no help when it comes to using it

@sequala_parson, yeah I would def agree, do more research but take an extra 1 if you feel you aren't taking enough

@brianna_, @allyk.xmommy, i wasn't afraid at all mothers in spain will have a glass of wine every night throughout their pregnancies . also i only had like half the glass because it gave me heartburn lol . but my mom had a glass of wine a week with me & all my sisters & we have no complications or health issues at all .

@brianna_, you can also call & ask your dr if half a glass of wine is okay for you to drink . my dr gave me the okay as long as it wasn't more than i think 8oz & it wasn't more than once a week .

@brianna_, I used primrose oils and also pressure points to induce labor. It helped so much.

@jessica.deshields, how long were you doing that before you started having contractions and went into labor?

@mum2logi, I don't have mines yet, they claim I will get it in the hospital this time but last time they sent it to my house

@mum2logi how often should I use it to try to start contractions?

I just used mind once or twice a day for about 15 minutes and I started getting bh contractions for about a week then had my son

Ok idk.. I bought mine.. I got the nuk one from Wal-Mart for 30. Loved it!

@allyk.xmommy, yes look online the points to induce labor. I done it with each of my pregnancys and I think it helped so much. There's one on your foot one on the inside of your leg and also one on your hand that helps labor there is one to help turn baby also. Another thing is nipple stimulating like using a pump or just rubbing them lol. But that's something that truly helped me.
