Once you're done bleeding I would think you could have sex again. I don't bleed heavily on my period normally so by a week and a half after my d&c /IUD insertion we had sex again and things seemed fine. Of course you should always ask a doctor first, but we just went with it. Took it slow and didn't have any issues.

I felt like crap for the first month, unfortunately it's normal to still be bleeding and cramping even up to 3 months after it's inserted.
