@ambermento, I just had to stop when she hit 4 months because I wasn't producing enough! Girls in shattered I've had the best time with her and to think she will be taken away 😭 he won't know her different cries, how she eats a certain way, what she likes/dislikes so on and I'll worry the entire time if she is being taken care of, I'm broken and I can't imagine going to bed or waking up without her.

If he hasn't been involved at all, even through the pregnancy, his name isn't on the birth certificate, right? Because you've got a great shot if so!

My ex did the same exact thing!! We are in the process of a custody battle. He served me immediately after child support court cause he doesn't want to pay! My sons father is never around either and he lied to the courts saying he is! But I nurse and my sons father lives 3 hours away so he isn't getting anything but joint custody. He wouldn't agree to anything last time because he wants over night visits with him right now and that's not going to happen. He didn't even get a lawyer! The judge was pissed so he was again told he needs a lawyer for next time. Idk what's going to happen. I'm hoping we don't have to go to trial but my ex is a jerk off and since he's not getting his way he might fight it all the way 🙄 but the judge was on my side, I could tell he could see through my ex. And he says he'd make the choice if my ex wouldn't. And the judge was all for me breastfeeding and what I was offering cause it's more than fair and my ex screwed himself my lawyer told me.

Yeah, it's tough. These days most states favor both parents. They want the child to grow up with a mother and father regardless of what's been going on. 😕 it sucks cause the lawyers and judges don't know our ex's and how it really is. My son has a lawyer also and this guy was in favor of my ex's rights. I've never tried to keep my son and his father apart ever I've encouraged more time he spends with my son but my ex doesn't take it. He sees him like once a month if that for like 2 hours and my ex tries to make it look like I don't allow him to see him. I give him free range whenever he wants! 🙄 And my ex never wanted him to begin with. He's a phoney. It's all an act. Unfortunately we will have to split time with them in some way. In my case I'll get physical custody and him joint meaning every other weekend. And my son won't stay over till he's older and my ex will have to deal with that. If his lawyer fights it I'll fight it all the way and go through a trial and tear my ex a part. These men are something else.

@missjess, is right things have changed and they want the child with both parents. I understand the hurt and you missing your daughter but hopefully he changes and is the dad your little girl deserves. Co parenting can be tricky but it gets easier and it is nice for your daughter to start that bond. I'm praying for a smooth transition for you both. I have co parented for about 7 years now and it has its challenges but it's do able. We both decided to stay in the town we moved to so Dakota would have us both close by. Also you need that moment to yourself. To sleep think and regroup. It doesn't make you a bad mom it makes you re energized and a better one. It will get better.
