I used to babysit and I would get paid close to 60$ daily so yeah that is kind of a rip off especially when she doesn't provide food or transportation for her child...

Lol girl boys are horrible it was so easy with my oldest daughter and then my oldest son my ex husband potty trained him so I don't know how he did it lol but all I know is I have been trying for a year to get my 3 year old potty trained and I wish he would get it because changing him is like changing a grown man because he is so big he isn't the average 3 year old people think he is 5 when we go out and about because he is stout lol I need to get him potty trained because I'm tired of changing so many diapers between him and my 10 month old it's getting old I feel like my 10 month old will be potty trained before him lol @js_kidsmom,

@lae1988 I don't have boys but I can say I made it game. Each time they peed they'd get a prize. Also my second child was harder so I had her sit in the potty all day except for when she was playing. But if she was eating or watching tv she had to sit in the potty. When she was off she had big girl panties.

@lae1988 you are smart. Don't do it like you said. If she was giving you $200 a week like a daycare would charge then Id say go for it and do all that driving around she wants you to do and so much more. But its just $50 so I wouldn't do it.

@allyk.xmommy I agree she definitely would be losing money especially if she has to buy the child stuff. Like I said before $50 a week for taking care of someone's child is not enough especially cuz you are not just sitting there while they are in a playpin all day. Who ever would do it for that much is a sucker.

@lae1988 that's why i said the first time that paying you that amount for the extra stuff is not fair .

In a regular daycare your child doesn't get 1 on 1 care so if you rather pay that much for daycare instead of in homecare where the child will get more attention then your not as smart as you think you are.

@mami1234, well I am not gonna watch someone's toddler and do a bunch of stuff with him potty training teaching and picking up and dropping off and supplying all food and snacks and anything else I would have to do for 100 every two weeks I drive an SUV so picking him up and dropping him off well that's gonna call for money because I don't have gas to spare for that she wants me to baby sit like @allyk.xmommy, she said the she can drop him off pick him up supply snacks and everything else than it won't be an issue

@lae1988 I think most actual day care are over priced so I don't agree . If I'm going to pay the same then why not just take my kids to regular day care . I think the pay should be based on what you do for the child besides watching them and depends on how many days . I wouldn't just pay more for me to do everything and they are just watching them .

In home daycares should be charging more than outdoors because there are less kids so meaning less income. Daycares have more kids and charge alot which in the long run they make more money.

Yea, if things were truly desperate, is do $100 a week IF the kids were dropped off and picked up at my house, had food packed with them, and had whatever else they needed. Because then the $100 would cover whatever toilet paper they used, or little things and id have money to spend. But $100 every 2 weeks to cover gas, food, and whatever else is impossible. You're loosing money.

Yea. Thats ridiculous. People want shit done for free or cheap. They want everything handed to them like kings and queens. Like nope. This month I started and stopped babysitting for my dad cuz he wanted things his way and I was not having it. His daughter/my sisters are the same ages as my daughters but he wanted me to put them first basically. Like my girls had to sacrifice one of their beds and their sleep because of his girls. And he wanted me to get his girls icecream from the icecream truck even though they just had a mcflurry from mcdonalds 30 minutes prior to coming to my house. Smh

@mami1234, I don't see why it would be an issue for in home daycares to charge the same as a daycare people that run daycares in their home do just the same as an actual daycare

When I babysat, I didn't just sit and watch the kids, I did activities, taught them things, made a reward system. The money i was paid contributed to that. It also covered has exspenses and my own food cost( I brought my own meals of I went there) of they came to my house, the money helped cover snacks and dinner for them.

I don't think in home daycare should charge the same as actual daycares . And it depends on how many days and what your doing for the child .

Yup, I'd tell her one more time your rules. And tell her you will not bargain. She is expecting WAY to much. If she can't do it, block her. She wont stop it seems

Yeah not enough. My daycare is $200 a week for 1 child. But then I also had an in home babysitter who only charged $20/day for how ever long. I think a happy medium would be like $100ish a week.

Thats ridiculous. Thats only $50 a week. If any accepts that I would be pissed. Some chick tried scamming me like that. She wanted me to watch her daughter from 7am-6/7pm 5 days a week for $100 every 2 weeks. I was like no $200 every 2 weeks or nothing at all. $50 won't even cut it for groceries in my house. Smh

Did you tell her you'd do it for more?? People take advantage like CRAZY! I use to baby sit in highschool. I put my rates up on a page. My rules and flexibility. When hired I would print it out and have them sign it. If they did not pay me when supposed to, they had a week( I know sometimes things happen )to pay me, other wise I would quit. They had 3 emergency calls a month( where if something happened and they needed a sitter quick but didn't have the money) I would go no problem. I was only in hs so I charged $100($5 extra/kid) a week for monday-thursday after school hours-9pm. Fridays I charged $125 from school hours-9pm. Anything past that was $5 extra. Saturday were $10/hour. Sundays were $10 an hour, but if it went past 9pm, it was $12 an hour.

Well if she gets paid every two weeks then I don't see the problem and for only four days. However the pick him up and drop him off has to stop and she needs to provide food
