Yes. This has happened to me twice. Once in 08 and once in 09. I was showing pregnant with test, but there was no heartbeat or baby, just a sac.

I didn't have a sac just two out of the three things needed to make the pregnancy "viable" but went back in two weeks later and there he was! I was only 4 weeks when they looked the first time

With my 2nd baby i went in around 5 and half weeks and they did an ultrasound and levels. I went went back twice after to see if they were doubling and they barely went up. They didnt see anything on ultrasound so they believed he was a blighted ovum and id miscarry. By 9 weeks nothing had happened and id had 2 miscarriages before my first born so i knew what to expect. They couldnt find a heartbeat and my levels were very low still. They sent me for another ultrasound and that was the longest hour ever. Googling answers like a mad woman. Lol. He was there and had a heartbeat.
