My 1st and 4th is the only baby that I didnt do placenta encapsulation with... 1st it hadn't become popular yet and 4th my placenta was supposed to be frozen in a friend's freezer (ours broke) until I could encapsulate it myself but, her FIL found out it was in there and threw it away... I was DEVASTATED!!! On 4/5/17 I had my 5th baby and I made sure I had it done right away and this time I used the raw dehydration method... I REALLY feel a HUGE difference. My 4th baby was my first with my DH; he was absolutely disgusted (but, understanding) when I told him what I was going to with the placenta... sadly it never happened and I had my fair share of horrible postpartum issues and depression. This time... it has been a savoir. He also notices a huge difference in my moods, energy, anxiety, and sleep. He REALLY notices when I forget to take my placenta pills This postpartum recovery has been so much easier than baby #4.

I want to encapsulate mine but my husband will not for any reason let me do it. I just want everything to go my way this is baby 4 and my last one. My dr won't let me water birth or delay cord clamp because of the risks that come with it. I feel so upset knowing I won't get what I want.

@jessica.deshields ... it is your body, your placenta, and your baby...
Your care provider can/can not "let" you do anything. Doctors are hired... if they re not giving you the care you want (and for no good medical reason other than their skill or comfort level) they can be fired and replaced with a care provider more that is more on your level. As long as you and your baby are healthy then you should be allowed to birth as you choose.
The placenta encapsulation is also ridiculous. You taking you placenta has no effect on him whatsoever. He doesn't even have to know. When you hire someone to do it for you
They should pick it up and drop you off pills... you dont even need to see any gorey details if you dont want.
Don't let someone else control your pregnancy, birth, and recovery.
Your husband should be supporting you and lifting you up during this special time...

Look up on you tube penny simkin and ina may gaskin on any of your birthing subjects especially delayed cord clamping
