This is my second time with nexplanon. Last time i had it i started getting irregular periods when it was almost time to have it removed. Other than that, no issues. I don't get a period, i don't know it's there unless i touch it, no weight gain etc.

Honestly, each type of birth control will affect every person differently... The Nexplanon implant is what I currently have and it's worked the best! I've tried different patches, pills, and the Nuvaring before and became pregnant while taking Ocella. With the implant, you don't have to worry about keeping track of taking a pill, it is safe while breastfeeding, and it can stay in for up to 3 years. Plus, it is 99+% effective (one of the highest ratings as far as birth control)!

I have the paragard pro it last 10 years and can taken out at anytime. The con is that makes your period heavier.

I had the nexplanon implant and it was horrible for me. My periods lasted 3 weeks, were super heavy, and they'd only stop for a week before starting again. It also moved and I had to have it surgically removed, and had muscle damage. I didn't have full range of motion in my right arm for a while.

I switched to the pill, and ended up pregnant 7mos later even though I never took it late or missed a day, and we used condoms...still unsure of how that happened. 😂

I'm on the Nuvaring now and it's the best birth control I've ever tried! My periods with it now are usually short, 3 or 4 days. Easy to insert and remove, you can't feel it at all while it's in. I love it.

I used/use nuva ring. It only took me a month and a half to conceive my daughter after getting off of it. Never gained any weight or had any scares or problems with it

I take Jolivette right now. I like it. I've had no problems on it. I have taken the Depo shot and my only complaint with the shot was the every day spotting and bleeding for like a month or two and then I got off it. I didn't gain weight with it which is uncommon because majority of people gain weight on it, I lost weight lol. I've been on orthotrycline also and that caused weight gain and i couldn't budge a pound until I went off it, it just melted off not even trying.

I had the depo. It made me gain alot of weight and have anger issues. Also my skin started turning yellow after 2 years on it. Then I used the pills called sprintec. They made me have really nice skin. Really light periods. No weight gain. And it was easy to get pregnant after I stopped. Also no pregnancy scares .

I have the Skyla IUD and I love it! I don't even know it's there. It's good for 3 years.

I tried the pills and all of them gave me crazy side effects, I've also tried the patch and the only side effect I had was when I first started it it made me have to pee a lot. That only lasted a couple nights then everything was fine, I also didn't have to worry about remembering to take a pill everyday

I got pregnant on the IUD paraguard. It was fine for over 5 years (was meant to stay in for 10) until it shifted in my body and I immediately got pregnant. Not sure what birth control to use now. I might look into some other IUD's because it was nice having that one

So far I love the pill, haven't had any side effects and helps protect you against ovarian cancer, but if you're like me it sucks trying to remember if you've taken it and if you slip up you could be pregnant, I was on the depo shot and it was miserable, made me super emotional, pain in my lower abdomen all the time, bleeding profusely and it's so hard on your system.
