Ugh got a WIC appointment today all my appointment up to last time was why I didn't breastfeed and they would put me in the support group like I was gonna magically gonna be able to breastfeed again or be able to pump and my last appointment was you're only suppose to feed them 2oz of formula cause he's still little and in my head I'm like you've got to be kidding me right I'm guessing you never had a baby my kid has been drinking 4oz since he was 2 1/2 months 😤 let's see with what type of bs they bring up today

I hate wic. They always want to put you in a group for breastfeeding or have you see someone like no mf just give me the formula. They argued with me when I wanted to put my son on formula at 3 weeks. They kept saying my son was gonna be stupid cause formula is no good. Well guess what my 1 year old son is advanced for his age. Does things children dont do until their about 3.

They did the SAME thing to me. I was able to breast feed but for only 2 weeks, there was a medical reason as to why i couldn't breast feed after 2 weeks but i wanted to pump. After i was done with that and told them he drinks 4oz they were all over me about how he only needs 2oz and to prepare 4oz and only give him 1oz at a time..um NO I'm gonna let him eat as much as he damn well wants too 😤 i LOVE their program and i appreciate being able to be apart of it and get the help but lay off me.

I love my WIC office. They are always so nice. Always tell me about upcoming events in the community, how to get free fresh fruits and veggies etc. They never try to push something on me. I was breastfeeding and it didn't work out so they had an emergency appointment for me and gave me formula right away so I could feed my daughter. My daughter ate 4oz since birth and they asked if her doctor was satisfied with what she was eating and her growth and she was so they were fine with it. I always scheduled my daughter to see her pedi then right after WIC that way WIC doesn't have to mess with her. I just hand them the papers her pedi gives us for weight, height, head measurements and my child is left alone.

Sometimes they are too aggressive at WIC! I find that in general about breastfeeding. People need to lay the eff off with their opinions, in my opinion lol. For instance I mostly pump, because my son has always had trouble latching. I am amazed by how many people have something to say about that! It's a mother's choice in general how we want to feed our babies. Period. I was formula fed, and nothing terrible happened to me.

Remind them that they are not medical professionals and that you will be taking the advice of your DOCTOR. Unless of course they would like to be held accountable for any damages to your child that could come from their 'medical' advice.
