@coralinesmommy12517 your baby is only 2 months. Its okay to be talking to her in baby talk. Im not gonna lie I baby talked drew sometimes but once he was able to say mama dada yes no I cut it out and started talking to him like an adult. These kids are 8, 9 years old still sounding like 7 month olds

I talk to my child in a baby voice and regular voice. Was actually told by her nurse, pedi, my OB when pregnant and her teacher that talking in a baby voice as a baby helps them talk and better understand you. I am also going to school for a Bachelor in child studies which is all about children's development and how to teach children from the age range of birth to 8 that also includes children with disabilities. I've also in class learned talking to children in the baby voice at a young age is good for the child. My child is one and is ranging in the 2 year age range for cognitive development. Gross and fine mother skills she needs to master one more thing and will also be in the 2 year age range for that as well. Her at home teacher is very impressed by how smart she is that hopefully by July she will start school, Early Head Start, so they can challenge her more than what I already am doing. I still baby talk to my child at the age of one. Right now we are practicing how to say the sentence of "I love you" along with other words. When she masters a word we practice another.

@babynessa and that's great honestly. My older sister who taught in daycares and pre school told me to talk to them in an adult way because it will help. Im not saying dont baby talk your baby but when their 5 and up its probably time to stop. But everyone teaches their child differently. This is how I teach mine and thats how you teach yours. Thats really great shes 1 in a 2 year old range.

Its just really annoying how the kids are 8 or 9 and still be talking to as babies.

I guess everyone is different with their kids but I agree with you and I learned the same thing in nursing school. That parents should talk to their children in regular voices. I think it's more important when the child starts speaking words like at 1

@desi720 exactly. I mean theres nothing wrong with baby talk at but I think at a certain age it should stop.
