My sister gave her son her babys fathers last name and now shes going through the courts trying to change it and since her and her ex arent getting along it's being hard for her to get it changed so just make sure your happy with what you choose😊
Girl if you want your baby to have your last name it don't matter! What I did was I informed my ex that I was using my last name an if he could prove that he was gonna step up an he a father I would change it. But I did put his last name as a part of her middle name. But he's never stepped up yet or even met her so it's still my last name! Do whatever you feel is right mama it don't matter what anyone else thinks that's your baby @jazzylohan,

It's completely your decision on how you feel about that. If there's a chance you'll ever be together again, or if y'all can ever be able to coparent appropriately. For the most part, the only hard thing about that decision is to try to find the words to explain to your kid later on if they get curious. All in all... it's what you're comfortable with because you're the one that knows what you want & who you want in your child's life. No matter what anyone says, you know you want all that if good for your child, & sometimes that means forgiving yourself for heartbreaking decisions that are made with a heavy heart & good intentions.
