Having internal conflict.... I've been determined to breastfeed my baby but she wouldn't latch so I've been pumping for her. But my left nipple is blistering and bleeding and shows no signs of getting better.. I'm in a ton of pain and thinking of just switching to formula but I can't bring myself to do it..
You may have inverted nipples. Maybe try a nipple shield until your nipples are trained to come out on their own. It's easier for the baby to latch to just always try getting your LO to directly attach first then resort to the Shield lastly
The pain truly goes away after 2 weeks of grueling pain it went away I wanted to cry at times it hurt so bad but your nipples will definitely heal and be fine
It will get better I promise! At one point I cried when she latched from the blistering but after a week or two, I haven't had any cracking or pain in the 5 months I've been nursing.
Lansinoh make gel pads that go over your nipples. Id put calendula on mine then the pads so they would soothe and heal. Such a relief. Dip your bad nipple in warm salt water then dry it gently and apply cream. They will heal eventually promise!! I know how youre feeling. Dont give up you can do this ☺
Whatever you do, DONT SUDDENLY STOP PUMPING. With my first child she wouldn't latch, and the pumping hurt me as well so I stopped pumping suddenly and I got mastitis. My nipple on the breast I got it, has never been the same. It's flat now and that one breast is much bigger than the other. The pain of the mastitis was overwhelming. I ended up going to the hospital and they wrapped some bandage around me.
