Had to switch babygirl from enfamil newborn to gentle ease due to gas issues and pain, but now she has a red-like rash on her bum and she's in pain when I clean her during diaper change. Tried to call Dr, left a message but I don't want to make her go through the night in pain/: any suggestions? Should I switch to soy? (Both my husband and I & our siblings were all put on soy as babies)
I've been using pure virgin coconut oil! 🙌🏼 wow is all I can say. I switched wipes to pampers sensitive and water wipes as well. I've been letting my little one sit in a luke warm bath for 10 mins with 2 tablespoons of baking soda. She had the same issue. Doc prescribed nystatin. And it didn't help :/ we are thinking it's something with her formula.
@keb5097, okay will do, we're using pampers right now but I'll try Huggies!
@peytonsmommay17, okay thanks!!
@laurmic try aquaphor, that is magic on my daughter. I know every baby is different but I had good results. As far as for the formula I'm not sure because I switch my daughter to gentlease for a bit and she didn't develop a rash but I didn't use it that long. I'm using Enfamil infant now
Try a different brand of diapers. Neither of my besties twins could use huggies. They broke out in horrible rashes, pampers was like all she could use.
@keb5097, okay thanks, definitely will try some of those things. My MIL has her right now and has been using warm wet rags instead of wipes like you suggested & has been using A&D because we tried balmex last night along with butt paste and it did nothing for her :/ thanks again!
Diaper rash can be caused by lots of things. Changing formula especially multiple times can cause lots of trouble for their little systems. I wouldn't change her formula again without trying other methods to treat the diaper rash. Use butt paste with every change, wipe her with a warm wet rag instead of wipes. Try changing the brand of diaper you use. Put aveeno outmeal bath in her bath water.
I think soy should always be last resort , just saying , it turns into constipated city!
