@lindseebee thank you, my sister stopped smoking at 5 months pregnant and started smoking right after she gave birth but she didn't BF, her daughter is above average on a lot of things.

Do you know we have thc receptors in our brains?

I smoked and still do, I breastfeed and my children are 'normal' with no issues. They have not been harmed by my smoking, if anything they are too smart for their own good.

I have been doing my research on this wanting to know the same thing lol. So THC doesn't fade in and out of blood like alcohol. It hangs out in any cell that attaches itself to fatty tissues. So THC stays in your system longer. Since breast milk works kind of like blood cells with different substances, nutrients, vitamins, toxins,etc. fading in and out as it gets distributed to different parts of the body, since THC stores itself in fat cells, It doesn't fade or go out of your milk like alcohol does. So basically it stores in breast milk like it does in your body- you smoke and when you're no longer high it's still in your system even though you're not high anymore or even smoked for a few days. Does it effect your baby? I wish I could just find answers to this!! lol but, I've read and heard and know mamas who do it lightly and have had no issues. But there isn't a lot of solid info that I've found saying it does or doesn't harm or effect baby even though it's just in your system and aren't high

I use medical too and bf. all I've read is that it can make them sleepy. so make sure they eat enough. i did with both my boys. they slept great but I never put the two together until this time around.

@lexonmars I was thinking the same thing. I'm exclusively pumping and just giving breast milk, I did red that one hit won't harm at all but I was wondering if I would have to pump & dump for a day or if its okay
