Just remember red is a very hard color to upkeep. I had my hair at a 5 before, and I had to re-dye it every week and half. Plus, you have to use a red shampoo/conditioner that has dye in it bcuz Everytime you wash, it fades. It's very expensive! :x

@katiibby, I've always had red hair in different shades. 5 would fade quick. I'll most likely go with one of the other shades. I don't mind the upkeep. Its better than the mess my hair is now.

@katiibby, I'm surprised your hairdresser didn't say anything before hand. Mine told me as soon as I showed her the color I wanted the first time I did red. My hair holds red better than any color.

Ah, that was probably my issue. I dyed red ( over my very blonde hair ) myself the first time, so when I saw .y hairdresser, it was already red :p

@katiibby, ohh I see. When I did red my brown hair was fully grown in from my previous color so it held on for a long time. I'm hoping I'll be lucky again.

Yeah, red seems to hold way better over darker colors. Fingers crossed it goes well again :) I looove the dark red/auburn look so much 💕

If you use a box dye from a drug store yes its going to fade really really fast like that. If you go into a salon and get it dyed it will last 10× longer. It will still fade over time but not as fast as a box dye. It will also help to use a color treatment shampoo and conditioner. Its meant to help the color stay on your hair and keep it vibrant rather than washing it out like other shampoos and conditioners do. @ktarver44

This shampoo and conditioner is the SAME as the salon one so don't buy the salon grade one because this is the same exact thing. My mom has been a hairdresser for 30 years and she uses this rather than a salon grade one. @ktarver44
