I am definitely a worry wart and the internet always gets the best of me, so I decided to try and get some advice here. My son is 14 months. He is head banging right now and I have no idea what to do. I've been told not to give him attention when he's doing it, he's doing it for attention, and don't get on to him for doing it. I'm just completely lost. He keeps getting bruises and bumps on his head from doing it. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.!

It sounds like a self control thing. Some kids can be more like that. My younger brother would always take off and then hurt himself. I'm not an expert but I think if you try to see what leads to this behavior it might help. Try to redirect or help him. Like if your child really wants something you don't want him to have, meet him halfway if it's not dangerous. Let him look at it and examine it in your terms. I don't know. Hope some of this helps and you find a good doctor

@charong, i know it probably sounds like i'm exaggerating but it can be anything! he gets mad that he can't have something. or just because i guess. sometimes he will do and then start crying.

14 months is very young. Under 2 I think kids are still learning to

Control emotions. Do you know what sets him off? What leads to the outbursts

@charong, i will ask his doctor. if i ignore him he tends to continue to do it and harder. if i pick him up, hug him, etc he just bangs his head on me.

I would change doctors for sure! It might be something that needs medical attention. My son had a preschool classmate with lots of self control issues and they found out it was diet related. What happens if you ignore it or if you just hug him and help him calm down

@charong, i haven't talked to his doctor about it yet bc she is very push-offish about everything. and she makes me feel dumb about my questions. 😔 we have had to change doctors so many times bc of this. i just want him to have a set doctor. i have tried absolutely EVERYTHING! he was also throwing himself down when he didn't get his way and i was finally able to get him to stop doing that. he hits me and pulls my hair too. idk if i'm just a bad mom or if he just trying to be mean. im so lost and feel horrible about it all.

Oh no. Have you talked to your doctor? Do you say no or can you redirect his attention to a new toy or book

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?

Advice? I'm not really sure what to say and I'm trying not to be irritated. But I'm not sure how someone doesn't grasp that having a baby changes things and they require a lot of attention. I'm alone with her 95% of the time so when he is here for 2 days, i NEED to clean, do bills, get groceries, try to sleep so I stop hearing voices, etc. But he's a lot more emotional of a person than I am so I also get that he needs the touchiness

So mamas I need advice. We take our son to the gym with us and they watch him in their kid care. Well this will be the third time that we’ve gotten called in there to get him because he’s supposedly doing something we’ve never seen or heard of him doing. When I went in there, the girl was holding him, he was in tears and so happy to see me and wanted me to pick him up. I told her I wanted to see him doing what he was supposedly doing. He went on to play with a toy nicely so I told him to come to me, picked him up and signed him out. While my man was still working out, I walked straight up to the general manager and told him I wanted to speak with him in his office. We reviewed the cameras together and my son was IN FACT not doing anything wrong but playing and she grabbed him by his arm for NO REASON and slammed him on the ground and he was on the ground for a good minute before getting back up. Right then and there was when we were called to come get him because he was supposedly throwing heavy toys at kids (which he never does). The manager apologized and then told us he would talk to her... what should we do?
