My SO thinks that the house is supposed to be clean every second of the day. Our house isn't dirty ever, but there should never be stuff around. I asked him to give the baby a bath, so I could clean up after dinner. He gives the baby a bath and then hands me him in a towel so I can get him dressed. Then there are a few things that need picking up in our room and living room area and he's freaking out. Somehow I'm supposed to care for a 6 month old (by myself) and while doing that I have to make sure there is never anything around. No toys on the ground.. Meanwhile his plates are sitting around and I have yet to shower today.... He's so unrealistic. I only have two hands.
Thanks girl! Leaving seems to be the only option. Its going to be hard but I'll be better off. @beebaby I was in a tiny room with my son at my mother in laws and I was so will of life despite the situation. His negative energy is toxic.
@ingridm89 I don't think they could walk a mile in our shoes....
exactly. I hate when his mom talks only because she was a stay at home mom. Right now I'm on leave, but I'll eventually have to go back to work and STILL take care of my baby. I feel you because I love being a mother. It's the best feeling ever and I'm grateful that my SO is working, but sometimes he's chillin at work. 🙄
@brendamariex3 I hope you can work it out, if not I wish you well on your own with your little ones. It's crazy because we just lived apart for a month and he said he missed me and all this junk. Guess he's not going to change. But I'm not going to put up with it. We've been together for a little over 3 years
That is so true. I agree 100% . And you don't want you baby seeing you hurt because they know
Just wanted to give my all you know? So if it came to that I know I did just that. I'm not a quitter, but when it's affecting my mental health then it's a problem. If I'm not in my right mind I can't continue to be a good mom. My baby comes first. @beebaby
Aw well it sounds like you know what to do. I hope you find the strength. You don't deserve that and neither does your child.
I literally just moved back in. I was staying with his mom for a month and its the same shit. I'm ready to be single. I didn't want to fight. Its gotten to this point before. He has left the baby crying to spite me. I'm obviously not going to let him cry. He knows that. He handles all the finances and he thinks that enough. I don't even want him to do everything, just be a decent human and help me if I'm obviously juggling a million things at once.
I understand that but you avoiding conflict leaves you doing it alone which will always leave you to be walked on. He needs to have some respect
@brendamariex3 Double standards.... Wow a dad watches his kid for 5 minutes, he's such a great dad. Mom goes to store and child is crying, wow what a horrible mother, why can't she control her kid...? 😩
@haleybae And your kid is on the move.... Bless you girl! My house will really be a mess then lol. I cooked dinner and everything was clean, then things happen and there's a little bit of mess and it's world war three.
@nani720 I guess we're supposed to have ten arms. I don't think it even occurs to my SO to lend a hand. He's adding to the little bit of mess and then stomping around all angry like a child... Okayyyyy.... 😒
@ingridm89 That's not right! It's not her place at all. This isn't the 1950s. Motherhood has enough challenges and I'm not going to complain about that because I love being a mom. Having a little support would be nice.... Why do they think they're so special? They do nothing or the bare minimum as far as physically taking care of the kid/kids and expect praise. I appreciate his hard work and handling all the finance stuff. I wish I could work, but things are bad now. If he actually had to care for the baby on top of all he does at work, we would self destruct.
Wayyyyy beyond unrealistic :/ my child isn't here yet & my house gets messy from time to time ! I just get caught up doing laundry / cleaning / resting. Sheesh men are annoying
Sorry girl, It's not fair... @haleybae All I ask is that he help a little, or just take the baby so I can do it all. I know he's tired from work, but I'm tired too. I love being with my son all day, I feel blessed to be able to do that. I don't think I deserve to be a punching bag. And saying sorry means nothing is there isn't any change to follow.
That sounds just like my SO and it doesn't help that his mom tries to get involved. She preaches about the house being "clean" and let me tell you it's far from it. Then she preaches of how clean her daughters are. Girl, I've been in their rooms, their curtains are the dirtiest things I've seen. 🙄
some of the stuff I see on here, like rooms, beds, houses, etc is disgusting! you claim you're a sahm and your husband works hard, then help him out and let him come home to a clean house, bed, sheets, etc🤷🏻♀️
Does your SO ever notice?!?
Does your SO/DH notice when u do things around the house?!?! I ask because I dropped the kids off at school this am then spent about 3 of my 4 free hours cleaning the entire downstairs. Living room, dining room, powder room and kitchen. Like scrubbed counters, toilets moved couches vacuumed and mopped everything. My house was sparkling clean when he got home and didn't even notice!!! Like wtf I just spent hours cleaning u would think he would at least notice but no w...
I need a bigger house we have 5 adults and 1 child in our house and it's a 2 bedroom trailer. Karen has her room then me and hubby have our room then our 2 roommate sleep in the living room 😭 too many people in our house!

8 healthy crock pot meals (7 to freeze and one for dinner tonight) prepared and cleaned up in less than two hours (would have taken less but I have a newborn so I was limited to one hand at times). I feel accomplished and am soooo looking forward to not cooking every night!
Clean house vs playing with your kids
This is always a fun one. I often hear the excuse of "I would rather play with my kids then have a spotless house" as a reason for not having a clean house (and I don't mean clutter...I mean actually dirty). Personally I think that's a load of crap. I have quite a few kids who are disgusting pigs....but my house is always company ready and I don't spend all day cleaning in order to keep it looking nice and presentable. Granted I do have indentured servants...
The fact that you have to.leave and go to your MIL while he lived in the home irritated me. He should have left.
