I love it. Such a great bond and overall I think my babies were better off with breastfeeding since they later had dairy allergies. The first few weeks are the hardest but if you stick with it, it's worth it.

I have 3 kids, my youngest being the only one I have been able to breastfeed. It's a beautiful bonding experience and yet can be very exhausting mentally and physically. My recommendation is to seek a lactation specialist. Don't give up. Educate yourself. Join the Facebook group La Leche- they are amazing at answering questions, concerns and giving guidance! I almost gave up but I powered through and am so glad I did!

@advomomof3, thankfully I am going to a lactation specialist in July, I suppose one of my biggest worries is the support of my family! I'm the only one to plan to breastfeed

@bribarnett58, support is key for sure! Maybe just bank some really good points on why breastfeeding is so amazing. Building antibodies, building closeness with baby, etc. join that fb group! They are super supportive

I had a problem with breastfeeding since my son had to go to the NICU right away. Very surprised about that. His latch was good but his sucking was different. He was making these clicking noises when breastfeeding and it felt like he wasn't emptying my breast. That was very frustrating. I spoke with many consultants and they never seemed to really help a lot. So I just turned to pumping instead of breastfeeding because it got so frustrating. It's a lot more work doing it that way but he's worth it.
