Hanna is teething... or at least that's what I assume it is.
Last night Hanna woke up crying 2 times. One around 11:15pm and another time around 4:30am. Mind you, she sleeps through the night 8-10 hours. First time she woke up crying, I tried rocking her and talking to her. She continued to cry. I gave her infant tylenol thinking it was the pain from teething and immediately after she fell asleep.. woke up again at 4:30am crying so I took her out of her bassinet and laid her in bed with us. Unswaddled her arms and she stayed up for a little bit and was content. As soon as I went to swaddle her arms again she cried. I left her unswaddled and she eventually fell asleep. I think she's teething because not only is she drooling a lot but sometimes when she's fussy and I run her bottom gums it seems to relieve her. What can I do to help her? I put orajel, give her tylenol and she doesn't like teething rings and stuff? She only likes to chew on her burp cloth or blanket. Any tips you mom as have to help us? I'm not used to her waking in the middle of the night and during the day at the babysitters she is rarely fussy.
So all babies are different, my baby is 7mos 3 wks and JUST had her 2 bottom teeth erupt. So many times I thought she was teething bc she had exact symptoms as you described but it was just general fussiness. Make sure she doesn't have ear infection or fever esp if she's in a group care setting ( church nursery, daycare, etc) otherwise have you listened to make sure it's not gas? ALSO be sure to google the "4month sleep regression" it's a real thing! Could be that. Good luck mama!! 😉
@mckennasmommy, I bet my baby will be the same way. She's not a fan of teethers. I don't think she really understands them yet lol
@mckennasmommy, I will try. She's not big on teethers for some reason. @erica.milco, is going to try that!
You can try running a wash cloth under water and then putting it in the freezer. She may like chewing on that.
@fitlife, not sure. I have an apt on the 26th so I can ask but I don't think I can yet. Only orajel and tylenol I think
🤔I was going to say to try rubbing Motrin on her gums but I don't think you can use Motrin yet
@mallory.fiery, well she just stays with a family friend so not really a day care. But no fevers because we have checked but not sure about ear infections. I will be going to the doctor on the 26th so I guess they can let me know. But she was a little gassy Monday but hasn't been fussy at all until last night but didn't sound like any gas. But I will look that up. Thanks! I've never even heard of it!
