My bf and I just very recently got engaged. We plan in getting married sometime in the next 3 months. We decided not to tell our family right now. His family loves me and would be happy for us but my family hates him and would be mad at me for accepting. My family has never really cared about my happiness when it comes to my own relationships as long as they are happy. I have really been debating whether to even let my family know that we plan on getting married or not even saying anything to them until after we are actually married. I think my mom would be the only one upset that she missed my wedding even with how much she doesn't like my bf.
Oh my... I understand how you feel... My family wouldn't accept anyone in my life. I guess they were afraid of losing me since I am an only child, but still... I ended up getting married thousands of miles away from home. My mom knew, but wasn't happy and it really weighed on her (and me) that she couldn't attend the wedding. Later on, when the children came and some time passed, they came along and now they even like my husband lol I would say you know best, but just consider that it will probably get better as time passes :) best wishes to you
@shylamarie that's what I'm debating. I would love to share the news with them I just refuse to tolerate them bad mouthing him. I know my bf has made mistakes but he has been good to me and has raised my daughter since she was 2 months old even though she is not his. Not telling them would be more peaceful but also stress me out because I tell my parents everything. My bf supports me either way. I'm just going bananas on the inside.
If you can handle the possible backlash from your family finding out, then I say go for it, tell them 😊 but if it is going to hurt you and make your wedding not as enjoyable, then I wouldn't tell them.

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Starting TWW. Anyone else?
I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.
