When I was a nanny, I worked out with my employers, exactly what kind of punishments were acceptable, and always told them how I would respond to misbehavior if their regular punishment didn't work. (Swat on the butt over clothes, a thump on the hand for hitting, bedtime, taking things they liked away or rewarding their siblings for good behavior and not letting them have treats until they shaped up and could show me they were ready to behave.)

We had in writing what my responsibilities were and how much they would pay me, even when I worked for family. ALWAYS get it in writing.

Sometimes when they forgot or just didn't pay, I'd call the school that I was supposed to pick up the kids from and let them know the situation and say the parents would have to pick them up until they paid me, but to call me if the parents were no-shows. If that happened, I'd bring the kids to where the parents worked and left them in their offices. It got the money they owed in my hands pretty quickly.

I'd tell them if they can't accept the way you discipline the child while she's in your care or pay you what they owe you, that you're going to take her to a regular day care at their expense. Don't be afraid to be hard on them. If you're not, they're going to keep on thinking it's okay to do that to you.

I would politly tell her i cant watch her anymore, i love my neice but i have to be able to discipline her when i am caring for her cause she is getting out of hand, and i see that you are not able to pay me the smount we agreed upon. So i think it would be best for our relationship if you can find someone else to babysit.
