FTM, second post and new to this in every way so bear with me please mamas! I need yalls help and any advice or input would be great and is welcomed! My LO is 7 weeks old (will be 2 months this Wednesday) and is sick for the first time. And this mama is so worried and has cried all day😢 she's usually such a great baby and never fussy but I noticed over the weekend she was a little more fussy than usual, but still nothing too much or alarming. Well today a little after noon I noticed she started sounding very congested and had a bad cough that she literally did not have at all yesterday and poor baby still is not hardly fussy at all and being so good and sweet but you can tell she isn't her usual self and just looks like she doesn't feel good. Her last rectal temp was 99.5 and the one before that 99.8. My cousin who is a pediatric nurse said they usually don't worry or consider it a fever in babies until it's 100.4 but I cannot help but worry and because she sounds and looks so sick. I will of course be calling her pediatrician first thing in the morning but am wondering if there is anything or what I can do now and before then to help her feel better and also ease my mind a little. She has has the lowest infant dose of Tylenol and also the lowest infant does of the zarbees cough and mucous, each given twice today about 5-6 hours apart as recommended. She is 10lb 7 oz now if that helps. I am just so worried about my baby and can't stand to see her so sick and not doing well, and I'm a single mommy so it's just me sitting here worrying myself to death alone. So I could really use some help and advice and reassurance! Tomorrow also just happens to be when I am supposed to be going back to work for the first time so this timing is so not great. I can't help but worry and just want to help my baby as much as I can until I can contact her pediatrician and get her into see her dr in the morning. Thanks in advance fellow mamas!

Yeah i can see why your worried gonna leave the baby for the dirst time tomorrow to go to work and she is sick... every good mom would cry. Its ok to cry about that.... but they say not to cry too much around the baby cause they can feel your energy. If i was you i would put the baby in a safe spot for a couple minutes get your tears out, go back to the baby with a smile and just comfort her talk to her walk around with her. That temperature is normal for rectal so dont worry. If she feels warm to you tho i would just wipe her down with a warm rag... if she's wide awake just give her a bath. Then just rock with her. Play some lullaby music that should calm you down too. No worries you will be ok mamma. Hugs your way 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

My LO just fought a stuffy nose. I ran the shower and turned the bathroom into a steam room. I stripped her down and sat in the bathroom with her. It loosened up her stuffy nose and I was able to get all the grossness out. I'm a firm believer in essential oils. I used breathe from DoTerra in our diffuser and it opened up her sinuses and my own.

Def have her in a steamy bathroom so you can suction out the mucus. I would also recommend getting a humidifier for the winter months and/or vaporizer for the summer. Like @jhalsted1995 I use essential oils with them as well.
