So I'm a FTM with a 3 week old son. I'm just curious, when will I sleep again? I've heard estimates ranging from 3 months to a year lol. When did you fellow mommies start getting more than 1-2 hours of sleep at a time?
I am loving the support and advice from you all! @rhealize - I have been told to sleep when he sleeps by a lot of people, and I'm still trying to program myself to do that, between laundry, cooking, etc. A mom's work is never done!
Once my son hit about 4 months he started sleeping through the night for the most part. He's 7 months now and he still wakes up in the night to eat but he goes right back to sleep. He also takes amazing naps in the afternoon so I'll sneak a nap in with him if I'm home. For the first couple of months I thought I was never going to sleep again, but trust me you will 😊
I ended up sleeping on the couch with the baby cradled next to me all night where he could nurse just to get any sleep the first few weeks. Both times. I cannot stress enough how important it is that you sleep every time the baby does. Even if you want to do other things or just want to be on your phone. That was my biggest regret with my first. I didn't believe I had to sleep every time he did 😂 with my second I was snatching every second I got.
Baby will usually start sleeping longer at night around 2.5- 3 months old, maybe sooner maybe later depending on the baby. It's not forever. Girls are built for this. You can do it ❤
My daughter was four months when she woke up once during the night. By six months she slept all night.
I'm getting about 3-5 hours now my sons about to be 5 months. There were times when he was first born that i literally had no sleep for 48-72 hours because he was so gassy and kept me up crying all night. Hang in there mama it truly gets easier. When I had no sleep I never believed it would but I promise it does😉
It gets better after 3 months. A lot. Those first 6 weeks were hell for me.
