It's really frustrating living with my mother-in-law. Our baby is not even 2 weeks old so the extra help is nice, but it can be overwhelming and over bearing having a shadow telling you how to raise your child. I know she means well don't get me Wrong but she can be too much! The biggest thing is the cultural difference I guess, she was born and raised in Haiti for most of her life then came to the U.S. I was born and raised in the U.S. So she has these Haitian superstitions and things she believes in doing and not doing and with all do respect. This is MY child that I carried for 9 months and pushed out &&I will raise him however I choose. At the end of the day this is EXACTLY why I need my own house asap!!!

I'm gonna be respectful but let her know, I appreciate her advice but I got this and as for the water he definitely is too young like you said @mberjuste5 I'm drinking water he's getting it that way.

I agree with @mberjuste5. And if baby is on formula you can also tell her there is water IN the formula. And as for his nails, don't cut them - just file them down so they are not so sharp. And don't tell her 😁 It's your baby; do as you see fit.

Don't give the baby water lol..... Try telling hey mama I'm breastfeeding him he's okay I'm drinking water he's getting it from me. Also tell her hey he's too young for water even if he was getting formula Etc... Maybe give her examples of why you should wait to give water Etc. Bc you don't want her to give him water when you aren't around thinking she's doing good, let her know hey I'm not being mean but this is my child and I'm raising him my way. Mother in laws are just so much to deal with lol.... That's why I keep my distance from the in laws bc they seem to look for bad and always want to give advice on what you need to do etc @naturalbeauty
