I am SO grateful for fellow mommas!
My husband and I took our 6 month old son to the beach for the first time last weekend. Of course when we got him out of his carseat, an obvious poop smell wafted from my little buddy's backside. I was just planning on popping in the ladies' restroom and changing him on a changing table, but just before my husband handed my son to me, he realized the baby's diaper had exploded. So I took my lil squishy to the bathroom ans HOLY COW this kid was a mess! His diaper was FULL of poop, which had burst out the top of the back of his diaper and coated almost his entire back as well as my arms, which of course means the back of his shirt was also covered in poop. I stood that kid up in a sink and just started rinsing, all the while trying to think up a plan of action that would result in the least amount of casualties possible. Among the other people in the bathroom was a more seasoned mom who was running after her own children, all of which were quite a bit older than mine. She spotted me and my poop catastrophe and asked if she could help. Normally I am too prideful to admit when I need assistance, but this time just one look at my babe's butt confirmed there was no denying it: I needed help. The kind lady helped me get his swim trunks off and rinsed all the poop off them while I gingerly removed his poop coated shirt, trying to be careful to not smear poop all over his head/face as I did so. She also pulled off and discarded his diaper for me so I could just take him into one of the shower stalls they had in the bathroom. I stood in the shower with him (while I was fully clothed, mind you) and sprayed that kid clean. The whole time this lady helped me, I just kept thanking her and thanking her. Some of the other younger ladies in the bathroom (who I'm guessing didn't have children of their own) just made disgusted faces at me as they watched me struggle to care for my poopy baby. I'm just glad there was a fellow mom there who was not afraid to lend a hand!
We even managed to have a fun time at the beach despite our somewhat crappy beginning;)
@momofdeuce i didnt know that thats what those were for i thought they were jus for the style of your shirt
Yes but I rather experience atbhome than out & about. So far I've been fortunate to not have one out in public since but I know my time shall come again 😩😩
@momofdeuce I think every mom experiences a poop explosion in public at least once haha! Unfortunately, the shirt he was wearing was a tank top, and the neck hole was too small to slip down over his body. Over his head was the only way to go! :/
Oh the feeling. How nice of her to help. Not many would as already got to witness. That happened to me once while out somewhere I had to clean him up right in the bathroom as you did IN THE SINk there was onlynone lady in there and she didnt look puzzled or disgusted which made me feel unashamed of what I had to do whether people liked it or not
Just a tip you can actually roll the shirt off his shoulders and down the lower part of his body instead of over his head ...helps alot!
@tired i thought the same until I saw a youtube video .
