My daughter did that around that age, then started walking around 9 months. Go baby go! :)

My daughter wanted to stand from an early age too, and she still does it when she doesn't want to be held or sit, is say let them practice! They learn their own way how to be mobile

Outrageous! A 5 year old was detained and questioned at his school for taking a toy gun to show his friend. He was so scared he wet his pants and his parents weren't notified until 2 hours into the questioning. He was suspended for 10 days, but it was reduced to the 3 days he had already served after the parents and others complained. The school stated that the situation was handled appropriately and would be handled in a similar manner in the future.
