It's really hard to do, actually. The suckling of the baby helps produce the milk. I was strictly pumping for the first few weeks when my son refused to breastfeed and my supply dropped to almost nothing.
Why do you think he won't latch? Usually babies only have latching issues for a couple reasons. My son had latching issues cause he was born early and those suckling muscles weren't developed yet. I worked with him so hard and he's solely breastfed now. Also, circumcision makes boys not want to latch because they're in severe pain. So that's something to consider if breastfeeding is important to you.

@marliemacieowensmomma, yeah I hear it's difficult! But I'm scared by baby won't latch and I'm thinking of different ways to keep him on breast milk

I did it's so much work! I had to pump every 2 hours even during the night because I leaked so much!
