My 3 week old is constantly pushing to poop. He hardly gets any sleep cause he wakes himself up from pushing so hard. He doesn't even poop and hasn't pooped for 2 days. He looks like he is in so much pain. He pushes so hard his face turns red. I had him on Similac Pro Advance formula, then switched to Pro Sensitive which I think is making it worse. I started on Enfamil Gentlease this morning to see if it's going to help any.
Anyone else have this problem? I dk what to do!
@maddabuggie, I am going to try the alimentum and if it works I will have the ped write a prescription 🙏🏻🙏🏻
@rachelrene, really?!? That sucks :/ I switched my son and it has worked wonders. I wish that babies came with a sticker of what formula to feed them when they are born 😂🙄 so frustrating but you'll get there!!! Do you have WIC where you are? I know people who do and they get Similac Alimentum with a doctors note!!
@maddabuggie, he didn't do much better on the gentlease. He is now on Similac Total Comfort....I think it has helped a little bit. I may try a hypoallergenic formula but they are so expensive 😩
My son did horrible on Similac!!! He screamed all day everyday and pooped every 4/5 days and was so miserable! We switched to Enfamil Gentlease and it all went away and he never cries! How is it working for you?!?
We had to switch to soy for that exact reason & it worked out just fine from there
@rachelrene, I think when my guy was as young as yours, we used half of the liquid and waited. Usually that did the trick.
The thermometer trick helps to stimulate his intestines and get him to push, while the suppository will do that, plus the medicine inside will help to break down the hard clumps that are too big to push out. They are a life saver when my son gets constipated 😊
My son has the same problem and I give him 1 oz of water and 1 oz of prune juice mixed together and it helps out big time@rachelrene
@purpledpink well I sure hope this enfamil works...hurts my heart seeing him in so much pain! I will be trying the suppositories!
@rachelrene, my older son had this prob when he was that age. We finally settled on the similac mint green formula (can't remember the name). However, we did have to use the suppositories that @rhealize, suggested, they worked like a charm!
@rhealize does that get it all out? I tried the thermometer trick and it helped but I don't feel like I'm getting all the poop out. My mom brought over those exact suppositories today....I will try them!
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Did any moms breastfeed if so how long?I was only able to breastfeed my son for a week or two weeks I had a hard time getting him to latch and I would bleed when he wasnt latched right and they would hurt so bad and leak so much ....any suggestions or tips?🤷🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️

It’s super hard to see in my sons mouth since he was tiny but I’m thinking he’s lip tied? I don’t know much abt it, any input would be helpful.
Also has anyone seen anything like the second pic I noticed it this morning, my first guess was a tooth was pushing out but I can’t feel anything hard, but it’s hard to tell. Hoping he opens his mouth alil more so I can see
Ty
How many of you Mama's to be are getting a push present? I still haven't gotten my last 2 push presents so I plan on looking for a few cheap push presents or 1 expensive push present to make up for the last 2 he didn't get me & this one😁
So , my son has had trouble pooping since he was born. He’s now a month old and is just starting to poop on his own (on occasion ) and the last two days he has been but the poops been hard , and today I noticed some blood in it .. I’m almost 100% sure it’s because of how hard it is , so idk if I wanna take the chance to call the pediatrician, what do you moms think? Anyone ever have this issue ? Picture in the comments
This is LITERALLY what I am going through. Lol! I want to change his formula but not until I talk to pedi about it. I was going to try similac sensitive or enfamil gentlease so hopefully he can feel better soon!
