My last appointment my doctor recommended the Tdap and flu shot. I never had a flu shot and worried. And the tdap prevents against whooping cough. What are you takes on these vaccines ?
@zrivera22 I only got mine to protect my baby. I dont do flu shots usually but I did it for my baby
@zrivera22, @athomas is correct about the flu shot. I'm sure everyone is different, but I have never had any side effects from either vaccine and neither has my husband or son, or anyone I know personally among my friends and family. I have heard some may have allergies to some vaccines. But like I say it's entirely up to the individual whether they choose to have the vaccines or not.
@rainbowbabym thank you and that's what I was thinking about doing getting the tdap and not the flu shot.
@zrivera22, I did not get a flu shot and I will never have one of those. However, I did get a Tdap because the baby cannot get the whopping couch vaccine until she is 2 months old and so by me having the vaccine it goes straight to the baby until she is able to have it. It is a good thing!!
Vaccines make everyone in my family sick. I don't take them.
@zrivera22 I was told the flu shot is suppose to help immune the baby to the flu since they can't get the shot until they are 1
@dmgraham06 not she didn't give me any type of handbook. I did feel like the tdap was very important. I'm more concerned about the flu shot. If it was completely necessary due to the fact that I'm due in June. and I just didn't want to get the flu. And making sure the vaccines didn't effect the baby badly
I had both vaccines. The flu shot that they give pregnant woman are 100% mercury free. The Tdap vaccine I feel is super important. Anyone that will be close to your baby should also have it. Whooping cough can be life threatening to your little one. Now this is just my feeling on these vaccines. It is entirely up to yourself what you think is best. When your doctor recommended these vaccines he/she should have given you literature on them. Did your doctor give you some type of handbook when you first went in for pregnancy confirmation? If so that literature may be in there. Just make sure you bring up any concerns to your doctor.
@kellyt23 well I never had a flu shot so I hear sometimes you get a few symptoms after the shot. And the tdap I was just wonder were there any effects towards the baby?
got my TDAP and flu shots today, in the same arm... 😫 so sore.
Did any mommies not get the flu or TDAP shot during their pregnancy?
Flu shot is necessary??
I took my son to his new pediatrician yesterday. I loved her! Except for one thing. She said to go back in 4 months so my son gets his flu shot. I told her we don't get the flu shot and she said he has to because I'm having a baby soon and that's what's best. Really? He got the tdap and I'm getting the tdap in two weeks but is the flu shot really necessary? I've always been against getting it. What are your thoughts?
Did anyone get the Tdap and flu shot while pregnant?
I got the TDAP shot yesterday and my arm is hurting!
I haven't received any shots and baby is perfectly fine.
