I'm concerned about my 17.5 month olds weight. She weighs 21 lbs. Her dr isn't concerned even though she's starting to fall off her growth curve. She's always been on the thinner side but now she is only gaining a few ounces in between checkups. She's a very picky eater but she does eat...A LOT. I just feel like she should weigh more at almost 1.5 years old
She's 32" so she's kinda tall but I'm just worried bc her weight has been so stagnant.
At first but he always been little. I started giving him pedilyte and he's 3 now and weighs 30lbs.
@kenzishae lol yeah er trip are too dang expensive. I lost my sons insurance once and i wasnt informed so i took him to the er later got a bill for over 1500 bucks all to just check his diaper area and send us home..
@roche.mommy6435, I'm still mad and that was months ago! We learned our lesson though, no more trips to the ER unless limbs are hanging off
Girl. We took her to the ER bc she had a virus which we already figured but just wanted to be sure and make sure she didn't dehydrate. They took her vitals then put us in a room and came in once an hour to ask if she has thrown up or pooped. We were there for 9 hours. That is literally all they did. A week later tricare sent us a bill for $946 @roche.mommy6435,
Gah i dont wanna know. I want off AHCCCS so bad cause its a pain in the booty. And my husband is joining the air force soon. I dont wanna go from one pain in the butt to another dang it lol. @kenzishae
@roche.mommy6435, Thank you! And it is very confusing and the coverage sucks 👎🏽
@kenzishae well good luck. I hope shes either gained alittle or you get some answers. Not being heard is a big no-no to me just because im usually right with my boys... I dunno tricare very well. My MIL made it very confusing lol.
We go back in 2 weeks so we will see what they say then. We have tricare @roche.mommy6435,
The not eating meat might be why especially if shes very energetic. Id just look for a new doctor or ask for a referral to a dietitian for kids. They may help better. Idk what insurance you have though so idk if itd be covered.
Starting to feel like that's going to have to be my next option 😩 @roche.mommy6435,
@kenzishae yeah i get it. Have you thought of seeking a new doctor? I had to bounce around until i found one that thoroughly answered my questions and didnt brush it off.. follow your gut. Always. If youre concerned find someone who will take you seriously.
She refuses to eat meat and she's lactose intolerant so she mainly eats pastas, grains, fruits, and veggies. We just recently started to give her Ovaltine but she prefers plain ol rice milk.
@roche.mommy6435, I bring it up every appointment but it just gets brushed off like "oh she's fine. As long as she's eating". Well obviously I'm not starving her she just isn't gaining weight. She does have a lot of energy and I'm sure that has a lot to do with it but I just don't feel like I should still be buying her 12 month clothing and size 3 diapers when she's this old 😩
Dont worry much about it. My son did the same. He sat at 23 pounds for about a year... then suddenly started gaining weight. I figured it was his body getting use to his new found energy.. he use to be in the 60th percentile. Now hes average... lol maybe bring it up next time if youre concerned? Or try the pediasure for weight gain. I used it for nutrients when my son stopped eating as much. But dont give it alot cause it can cause them not to eat either cause it fulls them up.
She's lactose intolerant and those are milk based so she can't have them @korahleah_11,
