Hey mommas. I'm new here and I'm hoping some of you can help me on this issue.

This is a question about the BC Mirena.

I had my IUD inserted March 7. I was told that light spotting will occur but i did not experience that at all. Although 5 days later I had my period for the first time after the insertion. The cramps were terrible and lasted for about 3 days!! My period lasted for 13 days!!!!!! Flow was heavy but not as heavy as before I got he IUD (which is why I got. Is to regulate my period and lighten my flow) but anyways my period last for 13 days. It stopped on the 24. No bleeding on the 25th. But on the morning of the 26th there's blood again. And now it's flowing like a regular period. I'm not sure if this is normal to bleed this much?? Any moms been through this or is going through this? I have a follow up appointment with my OBGYN on April 4th and I'm not sure if I want to remain on this or have it removed. I don't like having my period for so long and so constant. I hate having to wear a pad all the time. And not to mention the sex life nearly exist when I'm bleeding and my poor husband is getting the short end of the stick. Can someone please tell me if what I'm experiencing is normal?
