Hope it help keep your BP down... and they can keep your little buns cooking as long as possible... if you can eat something before you go in... they won't let you eat on magnesium! 🙄 some people get sick... also ask them to turn the temp down in your room right away and give you ice packs... feels like fire in your veins, for the first hour... after that, you are just a little hot! It's not so bad! I was on the stuff for 4 days... 2 days before labor, the day of labor, and the day after! I was only able to eat 4 meals those 4 days! 🙄 however, I did drop all my baby weight in that time! 😅 left the hospital lower than my pre-pregnancy weight! If you need to talk/vent just message me... I've been there!

You can ask for lidocaine on your skin

And if the magnesium hurts too nuch ask if they can add more saline

@twinpeanut, it won't help, with the magnesium... they have to put it in fast for the first hour, your arm for about 12-16" feels like it's burning, does not really hurt, just feels hot... then they slow it down, and the arm does not hurt anymore... mostly just make you feel like your core temp has increased! I think they had my room set at like 60! 😅 I had all the nurses who were experiencing hot flashes visiting my room! 😂

@dreamermom, I wanted to respond earlier but man you weren't kidding about the magnesium! My veins were on fire and I got so hot. It's must better now, just the first 20 minutes made me feel like poop! They are going to ask my doctor if I can eat haha I'm starving haven't had food in 15 hrs now.

@twinmommabellahali, yeah, did they turn your room temp to meat locker yet?!? 😅 the nice thing is that magnesium is a muscle relaxer so if you had a lot of hip/joint pain, you will not notice that pain for much longer... I was Miserable before going into the hospital, the initial bolus of magnesium through the IV, set me on fire... but after that it was not too bad at all! The nurses all thought I was crazy when they asked how I was feeling... and I'd tell them pretty great actually! They told me most women call it the devil drug because you are hot as hell! 😅but I think most women were not in the amount of pain I was prior to going in! I just had them turn my thermostat down and they gave me ice packs, popsicles and LOTS of ice chips! 😅 I was golden! I was just thankful that the technology/meds were available to help me and my daughter both make it safely through to delivery!

@twinmommabellahali, I think as long as the doctor does not expect you to need an emergency Caesarian in the next 12 hours, they might let you eat... I was in the same boat, went to the doctor first thing in the am, skipped food, and was sent directly to the hospital, so I had not eaten since dinner the night before! Keep us updated, and like I said before, if you have questions or need to vent, I've been there! I'll be praying your you and your little ones!
