@mrs.bowe, my son also helps around the house plus my son is in 5th grade next year he starts junior high and will be walking to and from school to the babysitter house

Jus bought my ten year old one three days ago he needs to get more aquatinted with it but so far so good i think an older would have been better but he asked an asked so I finally jus went ahead an got him one plus he made student of the month twice in a row great grades on report cards and progress reports hes in the four grade an already has a gpa of 3.0 he made the deans list and the honor roll yess yes yes so i feel he deserves what he ask for plus he helps me with his siblings an with house work more then my SO like literally

That's why I got it for him. Massive improvement with his grades especially with reading being his worst grade.

My parents let me get mine when I could buy it myself. I had it at 13 😂

You can always set parental controls on it so he can't use the internet or text after a certain time at night. And have it conditional on how well he does in school. There could be worse ages, though, so no judging from me. 😄
